Setting up multifactor authentication

Modified on Wed, 14 Aug at 3:48 PM

Occasionally you will have to set up your MFA again. You can do this yourself or a member of the Technology team can force it to be set up at your next logon. MFA methods can be set up and changed via the Microsoft Authenticator app and at https://aka.ms/proofup

Open the Authenticator app on your phone and select your Party account.

Click the cog in the top right.

Select Remove account.

If using iOS, you will be shown the screen on the right. Select "All apps on this device". Once MFA has been set up back, you will be prompted to re-authenticate in other Microsoft apps you have installed.

Please note: If you cannot delete your account, simply add your account using the steps below.

It's easiest to set it up MFA in the Authenticator app. If you have Party mobile, this app will be pre-installed.

Click the + in the top right and select Work or school account and then Sign in.

If you have already added a separate account you will be prompted to select an account. Select the + in the top right have corner to add a new account.

Type in your credentials. Click Next.

You will be prompted to install Authenticator. Since it's already installed click Next.

The screen on the right will appear. Click Next.

A number will pop up on your screen. When prompted enter the number and select Yes.

Click Next again. You will be notified that setup was successful. Select Done and then Finish.

Your account will be listed in the Authenticator app.

If you are adding it in-browser though https://aka.ms/proofup, find this under Default sign-in method.

Under Choose a method, select Authenticator app. You will be prompted to download Microsoft Authenticator. Open the app and add a new work or school account. Scan the QR code when prompted. You will be required to give Authenticator permissions to your camera for this. Enter the number in the app when it appears on your screen. When approved click Next.
