Mapping a share in macOS

Modified on Thu, 2 Nov, 2023 at 10:13 AM

If you're using a macOS device and need to access a shared folder on a server, you can easily map it to your computer. Here's how:

1. Click on the desktop or open Finder.

2. Select Go from the toolbar and choose Connect to Server... or press ⌘+K.

3. In the Server Address box, enter smb://<share> where <share> is the server and file path. For example, if you want to map the L: drive, enter smb://new.labour.org.uk/shares.

4. Click Connect and enter your login credentials if prompted. If your name is Jane Bloggs, it would be jbloggs. Your password is your Office 365 password.

5. Once connected, the shared folder will appear in Finder under Locations in the sidebar.
